# Data Visualization

{% hint style="warning" %}
Data Visualisation is available only for customers who subscribed before May 2026. This feature has been decommissioned for customers as of that date.
{% endhint %}

As a project member, you can use the feature **Data Visualisation** to create and publish **dashboards**. Dashboards make it possible to visually share the results of your processing or models, by leveraging data from your Cleyrop Datasets.

Each dashboard is linked to a project and can be automatically fed by data from the Library – Datasets.

{% hint style="success" %}
The feature is based on **Toucan Toco,** for more details on the**full range of features of the Data Visualisation tool**, see the[ official Toucan Toco documentation](https://docs.toucantoco.com/).
{% endhint %}

***

## Create a dashboard

1. From your project, click Data Visualisation.
2. Click on `+ Create`.
3. Enter a name for the dashboard.
4. Choose an illustration image:
 * Toucan Toco (for dashboards connected to Toucan),
 * Cleyrop (for native dashboards).
5. You can choose to notify the project members who will be informed of the creation of a new dashboard.
6. Click Create.

Later you can edit this information by clicking on `Edit`

{% hint style="info" %}
*Tip:* you can create a dashboard in **My Studio** to test the feature without impacting shared projects.
{% endhint %}

## View the details of the information and linked Datasets

From the dashboard list, you can click on :circle-info: to display the **dashboard details:**

* view metadata
* see sharing
* view linked datasets and unlink them

#### Manage access to a dashboard

By default all **project members** have access in **edit** to the dashboard, meaning they will be able to **access Staging** : add / transform data, add / edit charts

To manage access and permissions outside the project:

1. In the Data Visualisation tab, hover over the dashboard thumbnail.
2. Click on **Share**.
3. Search for **users or groups** you want to grant access to.
4. Select the members / groups via the checkbox and define a permission:
 * **Read** : access to the dashboard **published**
 * **Edit** : access to Staging to create or modify charts. They will not be able to link datasets
5. Click Share to confirm. The users concerned will be notified of the share.

{% hint style="info" %}
The dashboards created in **My Studio** are not shareable.
{% endhint %}

## Use datasets

### Link / unlink a Dataset to a dashboard

Before using data in a dashboard, you must link the Dataset to the visualization project.

From the project library, Datasets tab:

1. Select the Dataset to link.
2. Click ⋯ (action menu) → Link / Unlink.
3. Select the target dashboard(s).

### Use linked data

Once the Datasets are linked to a dashboard, you can use them directly in your Toucan App.

To **refresh and publish** your data

1. In Toucan Toco, open the Staging console.
2. Click ⚙️ → Refresh Data to reload the data from Cleyrop.
3. Click 🚀 → Publish to publish the updated dashboard.
