# Manage DevSpaces

Oversee and administer the development environments of all platform users.

As a **Platform Manager**, you have access to an overview of all the platform's DevSpaces. This interface lets you monitor resource usage, manage the lifecycle of environments, and optimize the use of your resources.

## Monitor DevSpaces

From Administration > DevSpace, you can view all the DevSpaces that have been configured (active or stopped) on the platform with the following information: owner, resources (CPU / RAM / storage), status, accessible agents.

## Manage the lifecycle of DevSpaces

Start or stop DevSpaces to optimize cluster resource usage.

### Start a DevSpace

* Find the DevSpace in the “Stopped” state in the list.
* Click the :play: Start button.
* The status badge changes to “Deployed” after a few seconds.

### Stop a DevSpace

* Find the DevSpace in the “Running” state in the list.
* Click the :stop: Stop.

{% hint style="success" %}
The data in /home/cleyrop remains preserved. Only the runtime is stopped.
{% endhint %}

### Delete a DevSpace

Platform Managers can delete any DevSpace from the administration view.

* Find the DevSpace in the list.
* Click **Delete**.
* Confirm the deletion.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Deletion is irreversible. All data in /home/cleyrop is permanently lost.
{% endhint %}

## Impact of user management

Understand the consequences of deleting or deactivating a user on their DevSpace.

### Deleting a user

When a user is deleted from the platform, their DevSpace is automatically deleted.

* The DevSpace and its persistent storage are permanently erased.
* All of the user's data in /home/cleyrop is lost.
* This action is irreversible.

### Deactivating a user

When a user is deactivated (without being deleted), their DevSpace is automatically stopped.

* The DevSpace changes to the “Stopped” state if it was running.
* The data in /home/cleyrop is preserved.
* If the user is reactivated, they can restart their DevSpace and retrieve their data.
